Canada vs Ireland Oct. 03, 2003

 

Sebastien Gauthier posses for my camera before the fight. This kid reminds me of our Tony Luis. He is great athlete, trains hard and he is a pleasure to talk to, and be around. I look forward to see many more of Sebastien's fights.

 

 

This fight barely got into the middle of the first round before Raymond Kane of Ireland ran into the quick hand speed and hook of Ghislain Maduma (red corner) and staggered against the ropes. The fight was stopped in the first round and Ghislain the clear winner. I was impressed with his quickness and power. This kid is going to be a good fighter.

 

Nikolay is a tall strong fighter and does not let up on his opponent. The minute the bell rang Nicolay was off to the races and stopped Patrick Smith of Ireland in the blue corner in the first round.

 

 

Kevin Doherty of team Ireland (blue corner) gets David A. Gauthier in the corner and lands some good hooks. Kevin gives David two standing eight counts and wins the bout on points.

 

 

 

Jonathan Barbeau of team Canada loses to Conor Nash of Ireland on points. Jonathan was quick but Conor used his jab although it was a slow jab he worked it in effectively.

 

 

 

This was the main event and as I watched I saw why! This kid is a great fighter, fast, and a stalker. He leaves no room in the ring for any opponent. There is nowhere to hide when you fight Sebastien Gauther.

 

 

 

Antonin Decarie is fast, has a good hook, and works his opponents body effectively. Give Noel Monteith credit for having heart. Antonin's speed, good hooks, and body shots got him the clear victory.

 

 

Benjamin Besmi of team Canada loses to Stephen Haughian of team Ireland on points. Stephen was effective with his jab, although, I thought that Benjamin in the early rounds was strong enough to knock out his opponent, but Stephen kept that jab in Benjamin's face and proved enough to win.

 

 

Canada's Mohammad Haskieh (red corner) battles it out with Dermot Hamill of Ireland. Dermot fought a good fight but was no match for Mohammad's aggressiveness, hard punching, and speed.

Team Ireland: Kevin Doherty, Stephen Haughian, Conor Nash, Dermot Hamill, Ryan Logue, Raymond Kane, Patrick Smith, Thomas Hamill, Noel Monteith, Shaun Mc Kim.

 

Sebastien Gauthier center with Russ Anber to his right and trainer behind, celebrate Sebastien's sweet victory over Ireland's Shaun Mc Kim. Shaun was no match for Sebastien's relentless pursuit. Sebastien used his speed and aggression and left no room for Shaun to maneuver. The bout was stopped in the second round.
