Jorge Luis began boxing in his early
teens as an amateur fighter. He fought and beat boxers who went on to
compete at the provincial and national level. At the age of nineteen,
Jorge suffered a severe ankle injury which ended his amateur boxing
career. However, his passion for the sport never died, and twenty years
later, Jorge is giving back. By founding Champs Eastside Boxing Club
in Cornwall, Ont., Jorge gives generously of his time in offering youth
the opportunities he never had. His continued dedication, and persistence
in the sport, has, to his credit, produced:
