The
round starts and Joey Bowman springs into action. It's been roughly
nine months before Joey's last fight but that did not stop him. Joey
beats Quebec champion Jean-Philippe Barbeau of St.Hyacinthe, Québec
on points 28-13. Joey maintained a comfortable lead throughout the fight
with his speed and combination punching.
Matt
"Maddog" Veenstra and Pascal Mimeaul of Laval, Quebec fought
at a high pace with Pascal having his best moments catching Matt on
the ropes. Matt made an effort to bob and weave and absorbed most of
his opponent's punches on the gloves and arms. Unfortuneatly, the judges
must have scored those blows as clean points. Matt gave Pascal a standing
eight count in the first round and rallied big in the third gaining
18 points and giving Pascal one more standing eight count leaving his
opponent with a bloody nose, a black eye, and sore ribs to cope with
after the fight. Unfortuneatly, it wasn't enough to merit a decision
with the point system.
Jorge
Luis and Tony Luis water Matt Veenstra down after their fight. Matt
was breathing hard, as he should be, having fought a hard fight.
Joey
Bowman with his hands raised after his victory over Jean-Philippe Barbeau
of St-Hyacinthe, Quebec.
Franz
Vigneron of ACA de Laval in the black trunks wins over Maxime Neault
of Mario Cusson in the blue trunks. It was an action packed fight leading
to a bloody contest. No one was seriously hurt and it made for a great
bout.
Sacha
Louis-Seize of ACA de Laval wins over Sylvain Martel of Donald Ouimet
in an action filled bout with Sacha knocking Sylvain down and the fight
eventually being stopped in the third round.

Karine Lavergne of Chat Bleu
in the black trunks takes home the win over Marie L'heureux of Hilton
Boxing in the white trunks. This was an exciting boxing match with these
two young ladies fighting hard, some what like a mini brawl. I enjoyed
watching them very much.
Sophie
Cousineau of Club Mtl. winner of this great technical fight over Sabrina
Deland of ACA de Laval. Both girls fought well.
Jorge
Luis with Matt and Tony Luis in the dressing room removing Matt's hand
wraps and discusing the fight.
Kevin
Adams works the corner of his young fighter Victor St-Gelais. Victor
was smaller than his opponent Yanick Tremblay, but put up a good fight
and hung in there. Unfortunately it was not enough for a win as Yanick
was the more aggressive fighter.
